Ann passed from this life on May 20, 1989 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on September 29, 1949 to Thomas and Louise Akins. She passed after a short illness with cancer.

Ann was survived by her husband, John Hughes, two children; Kish Hughes and Nathan Hughes. She was also survived by her parents Thomas and Louise Akins; threesisters: Jewell Keith Maschino, Ruby Akins Allen, and Grace Akins Green.

She was laid to rest at Forest Hill Cemetery-South, Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee.
