Edwinna Sue (Denton) Empie, 76, passed from this life peacefully on Sunday, September 18, 2022, in Endicott, New York. She was born on July 19, 1946, to Louis Lorenzo Denton and Martha Arlene (DeHart) Denton in Paris, Tennessee.

She lived in Memphis, Tennessee most of her life but moved to New York to be with her daughter when she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

She was well loved by all those that she encountered. She had a great sense of humor and could bring life to any social gathering she attended. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was gifted in music and art and loved to share her creations with others. She left behind beautiful memories and words of wisdom through her journals that she wrote in every day for many years. She rose to all life's challenges and faced every difficulty head on. She did not let anything stop her from living life to the fullest.

She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer; sons, Jacob, Justin, and Jason (Sunshine); grandchildren, Ashley (David), Hunter, Christian, Arianna, Camden, Ronan, and Baron; siblings, Judy, David (Theresa), and Sandra; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

A reception in her honor was held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 4195 Kirby Whitten Parkway, Bartlett, TN on Saturday, October 15, 2022, from 4-7 pm. All that knew Edwinna were invited to attend. Her final resting place is in the Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Pennsylvania.
