Kathy Anita (Crain) Davis passed away on Monday, October 4, 2010 at age 56. She was preceeded in death by her father, Crockett Crain, and her two sisters, Melba Wilbanks and Edna Bridges.

Kathy was born on May 11, 1954 in New Albany, MS. She was the fourth child of Crockett and Joyce Crain. She was welcomed into the family by her older siblings, Melba, Edna, and Gerald. As a young child, her family moved to Memphis, TN. She attended school at Westwood High School and graduated in 1972. On November 13, 1971 at age 17, she married Bobby Davis. This marriage lasted nearly 39 years and produced two children, Bobby and Holly. As her children became school age, she went to work in various jobs. She held a position with Sharp Manufacturing for 15 years. After the company left the Memphis area, she worked at Smith-Nephew for nearly 10 years. Kathy was a hard worker with a strong work ethic of getting the job done. You would never hear her complain no matter how unwell or tired she may have been. Kathy was also a proud grandmother of four: Caroline Davis, Madeline Davis, Forrest Wheeler, and Silas Wheeler.

Survivors include her husband, Mr. Bobby Davis; her son, Dr. Bobby Davis and his wife, Chelsa; her daughter, Mrs. Holly Wheeler and her husband, Paul; her grandchildren, Caroline & Madeline Davis, and Forrest & Silas Wheeler; and her mother, Mrs. Joyce Crain; her brother, Gerald Crain, and a host of nieces and nephews all of DeSoto County.

Memorials and contributions may be made to the local chapter of the DeSoto County Humane Society for the betterment of neglected animals.
