Mack F. Pennington, age 68, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 13, 2018 in Claremore, OK, surrounded by his loving wife, daughter and son-in-law.

Mack was born April 8, 1950 in Crossett, AR to Millard and Maxine (Temple) Pennington. As the youngest of six boys, he quickly earned the title "baby brother Mack." He and his brothers grew up on a farm in southern Arkansas where they had many adventures. While in high school Mack was in the Civil Air Patrol and marching band. He graduated in 1968 from Westwood High in Memphis, TN.

At age 19 he joined the Air Force and served for 20 years earning the rank of Master Sergeant (E-7). While in the Air Force he was a command control specialist and the primary briefer for the Commander, Headquarters Eighth Air Force, Barksdale AFB, LA. During his career he was stationed at Keesler AFB, MS; Misawa AB, Japan; Randolph AFB, TX; Incirlik AB, Turkey; Lowry AB, CO; Hickam AFB, HI; Barksdale AFB, LA. He earned several medals, commendations and accolades over his 20 Year career. After retiring from active duty Mack attended Tyler Junior College and the University of Texas at Tyler where he earned his Associate's, Bachelor's and Master's Degrees. He was a professor of Political Science, History and Communications at Roger's State University in Claremore, OK and Tulsa Community College in Tulsa, OK. He also coached the Tulsa Community College debate team. During his time as their coach the team won state, regional and national awards, and Mack was awarded Instructor of the Year.

Mack married the love of his life and best friend, Diane Creasy on March 8, 1969 in Memphis, TN. Together they have shared over 49 wonderful years. They have made their home in Collinsville for the past 18 years. Mack enjoyed traveling, playing golf with all his brothers, grandson, son-in- law, and buddies, but most of all spending time with his family making memories that would last them a lifetime. He will be deeply missed. Those left to cherish his memory include his lovely wife Diane; his daughter, Lisa Garman and husband Scott of Owasso, OK; two grandchildren, Rachel Garman and Matthew Garman both of Owasso, OK; his mother, Maxine Dixon of Senatobia, MS; his five older brothers, Robert Pennington of San Antonio, TX, Dean Pennington and wife Jeannie of St. Hedwig, TX, Morris Pennington of Senatobia, MS, Horace Pennington and wife Patti of La Vista, NE, Jerry Pennington and wife Cathy of San Antonio, TX; Aunt, Betty New of Crossett, AR; Uncle, George Rice of Vicksburg, MS; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his father; and half-brother, A.G. Pennington.
