Patricia "Pat" Ann (Coop) Swain, born July 28, 1946, in Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on February 26, 2022, in Oakland, Tennessee.

Pat worked from 1975-2002 for the Shelby County Sheriff's Office. She retired as an Inspector. She also worked 10 years with Quitman Police Department-Resource Officer at Quitman school with Daisy, her police companion.

After retiring she started the Explorer program for the Shelby County Sheriff's Office and ran it for many years, she was on the pistol team earlier in her career and held classes to teach women how to shoot and handle weapons. During her career she received many awards for her outstanding performance. However, the most prestigious of them all were the SRO of the Year for Arkansas and the Jim Wooley Lifetime Achievement Award.

Pat enjoyed sewing, crafting, traveling, and shopping. Her family, friends, church family and law enforcement family were her world.

She is preceded in death by her husband Richard Swain, father W R Coop, Mother Sarah Coop, brother Jim Coop,

She is survived by her brother, Charlie Coop (wife Linda); Daughter, Dana Howeth; Grandson, Matthew Segerson (wife Shawna); Granddaughter, Ashley Case (husband Brandon); Niece, Stacy Coop; and Great Grand Children, Charleigh Segerson, Tate Segerson, and Bryson Case.

Funeral Arrangements for Patricia; Visitation was on Thursday, March 3rd, from 10 am until 12 pm at which time the funeral services began. Both were held at Faith Baptist Church at 3755 N Germantown Rd. Bartlett, TN. Patricia was laid to rest at Forest Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park East, at 2440 Whitten Rd., Memphis, Tennessee.
