Robert Neil Meeks, 59, of Olive Branch, MS, formerly of Memphis, passed away on April 2 at Methodist University Hospital. He was born in Tupelo, MS, July 29, 1948, the third and youngest son of William Guy Meeks and Mary Lou Phillips Meeks. He was a graduate of Westwood High School, attended UT-Martin and graduated from the University of Memphis. Bob was a patrolman with the Memphis Police Department for 11 years, a library assistant with the Memphis Public Library and Information Center and most recently was a courier with Express Courier and for the past three years with Paper Trail, where he had the pleasure of working with his dear friend of more than 40 years, Al Roser.

Bob leaves his wife of 38 years, Ann McDonald Meeks, his son, Robert Neil Meeks II, grandchildren, who were the light of his life, Annie and Trey Meeks, and Madeline, Max and Louis Day, all of Olive Branch, MS. He also leaves his brothers, Guy Meeks and Don Meeks of Gilbert, AZ, along with a host of friends whom he loved dearly. Bob was a wonderful, generous and loving man who always put his family first. He knew no greater joy than traveling with Ann, spending time coaching his son, Bobby in soccer and teaching his grandchildren to love and play sports.

Services were held on Saturday, April 5, at Heartsong Church, 800 N. Houston Levee Road, Cordova, TN. The family requests that in lieu of flowers that memorials be directed to Youth Villages, Baptist Memorial Health Care Foundation, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the charity of the donor’s choice.
