You passed away this morning, with the sunlight pouring in the window over your head and holding our hands.
All of your babies were with you right by your side. Five years ago, we started in our own ways trying to say goodbye, and we still aren't ready.
We thank God that you are free from pain after fighting for so long and we are so proud of you, our Susu.
"Be like the bird, who halting in his flight, on limb too slight, feels it give way beneath him. Yet sings knowing he hath wings"
The reality of your absence has not become real to us as a family and we ask for your prayers.
We plan on celebrating her life privately as she requested in one of her favorite places, and then hosting a dedication at Aldridge Gardens in
Hoover as well as Knoxville, TN.
In lieu of flowers, although she loved them and had a gift for gardening, please consider a donation to Camp Bluebird, a camp for cancer
survivors, via St. Vincent's Health System and St. Vincent's Foundation.
I'm still searching for the comfort in knowing she's not in pain anymore & she's finally at peace. I'll get there, but please keep our
family in your thoughts & prayers as we grieve.
