He was born November 7, 1954 in Saltillo, MS to Cecil and Helen Carter Putt. Terry was a Christian and veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He also was a manager at Meadows Construction.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Polston Putt of Byhalia, MS; mother, Helen Putt of Southaven, MS; brother, Tim Putt of Southaven, MS; several nieces and nephews, Katie Sambola, Jennifer Williams, Erica Filsinger, Emily Miller, Jeremy Polston, Courtney Moore and Nicole Bowman.

His memorial service was Monday, December 9, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Holly Springs Funeral Home. Visitation were Sunday, December 8, 2019 from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
