WALTER BERT ELAM, 59, lost his 46 year long battle with type 1 diabetes. He was a 1972 graduate of Westwood High School, Memphis, Tennessee and was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, and held a degree in biochemical engineering and computer programming.

He leaves his mother, Karon Elam, who is a 50 year member Order of Eastern Star and past matron. He leaves two brothers, Gerald Wayne Elam of Ripley, TN and Gordon Terrell Elam of Richport, CT.

Graveside service was July 11, 2013 at Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg, Tennessee.
